Monday June 5 Dozmat- Szentpéterfa EPW day 4

Feet for everyone are feeling very poorly, but Carols particularly.
She has a bunch of blisters and although we have done a bit of work on them, the decision has been made for her to be transported to the next stop.
The best and most exciting part of that decision is that for no further cost, the nice man will transport all our packs as well.
I feel though that philosophically that is not the right thing to do but my new friends assure me they will not tell a soul.

On that note we were able to set off a bit later, also it is not a huge day, allegedly......

Met up with our friends David and Lisa and spent the the next couple of hours in the forest. Very pleasant and cool. Sadly we have now discovered that today is a public holiday, our coffee prospects are not looking good.

Found a funny little bar on Pornóapáti, small but very sweet village. Apparently a great place to cross the iron curtain as Austria on 3 sides.

Just before lunch , in the village of Bildein, we came across some very sobering reminders of the history of this land and in reality why we are here..

Accomodation for the night is in a community centre in Szentpéterfa
Wonderful, this is the sort of accomodation we anticipated. The 9 of us in a hall.

We were also invited to an opera???? This was being performed in the community hall tonight. It was totally in Hungarian, a pianist and a singer. Quite incredible.
We eventually sorted out the context of the performance, being about Hungarian borders and treaties signed after WW1 when a lot of Humgrian territory was taken over by others!

After traditional diner in pub: goulash then crepes
